African Recycled Glass Jewelry

These beads are made by recycling scrap glass (bottles, jars, etc.,) to make glass beads. The glass is broken and crushed into a fine powder to which color is added. The substance is placed in to molds and fired, producing the recycled glass beads. This technique is widely used in parts of West Africa, particularly Ghana where the beads in this collection are from.
